First known as Madisonburg Evangelical United Brethren Church the church flourished in a white clapboard structure complete with bell tower and outdoor plumbing. As the church grew and the demonination merged with the Methodist Church we became known in 1968 as Church of the Cross United Methodist. Throughout the years we continue to greet all people who stop in while driving on Route 3 (Cleveland Road.) Foodie Alert: Our church is located between a Dairy Queen and Hartzler's Family Dairy (more ice cream!) See why we think Church of the Cross is a glimpse of heaven?
